We also tweeted WOMAD about adding some shades areas. They suggested we sit under a tree I always bring an umbrella for shade. Throw a sarong over the top and you have yourself a little shady tent! The arboretum will be packed with people seeking shade, but you can't be there if you have 'must sees' out in the open. π

We also tweeted WOMAD about adding some shades areas. They suggested we sit under a tree I think that's a sensible request bearing in mind Met Office have warned folks to stay out of the sun. It's a pity Womad couldn't have made a less flippant comment Tweeted them asking for shade too, not holding my breath though

How does Womad water work? Morning mikter. Last year you had to buy a plastic bottle which had a special sticker on it that activated the automatic water dispensers that were dotted about. The dispensers were neither robust nor hygienic in my opinion. You had to get the mouth of your bottle in contact with the nozzle before the sensor in the sticker made the water flow, which is really not hygenic. The one we started using was broken by the Sunday. The water wasn't filtered or chilled as Frank's used to be and there were no roving water people with supplies. Very inferior and I'm not sure if they contributed to a charity.....π

How does Womad water work? You buy a water bottle, the water bottle has microchip or something like that in it. You find a water dispenser and press the marked area on the bottle against the dispenser, which reads the microchip so it knows youβve a Womad Water bottle and dispensss water. There are still free water taps with muddy patches. What upset me though was I came across a group of about 4 children trying to get water from one using their normal water bottles and failing. I of course used mine to fill theirs but I found it quiet upsetting to see a situation where you had to pay to allow children to drink fresh cool water. Many young families donβt have much spare cash, but no one in a civilised country should be denied fresh clean cool water. It was simply saying that the poorer customers should stand in a muddy puddle and drink water from a hose. Womad of all organisations can do better than that!
