Hi everyone, I run a hearing protection campaign called All Ears. Our (very) small team is heading to WOMAD this year for the first time to provide safe listening advice and high-fidelity earplugs for sale. I'm looking for volunteers passionate about hearing protection to help us out at the festival. You'll get a free ticket, food and great company during your shifts! You can check out what we're all about via our website here: allearscampaign.com/safe-listening-tipsIf you're interested or have any questions, please reply to this thread and/or email me at john [at] watchthehype.com. Thanks! John

Does sound interesting. Have to accept there are times at concerts I wish I had brought hearing protection. Other times I get funny looks for wearing it.

Thanks guys! If you know anyone else who may be of interest please point them in my direction.
@zenrider, it's still something that has stigma around it unfortunately, but we're trying to change that. This is our first festival season which is super exciting but pretty tough.

Good luck with that. Great innitiative. Am already going to Womad and there is too much I want to see and hear, so canβt volunteer. I am a tinnitus sufferer and protect my ears at all gigs. Custom made plugs for loud stuff, foam ones for the not so loud gigs (I go to a lot of folk and trad shows). Many festivals now raise awareness to this important issue. I volunteer at End Of The Road and they hand out free earplugs (the cheap foam ones) to festival goers. A crowd that do custom made plugs also have a stall at the festival.

Del has been using ear plugs at gigs for years (especially the metal gigs he goes to).
His job is all about listening to people so he needs and wants to protect his hearing.
And it all started with a stall from action on hearing loss at WOMAD.
So good luck
PS we will come over and say hello, you'll know Del buy site, sideburns, tie dye and kilt. At night he is even easier to spot.
