Happy Birthdays and Full Cold Moon!
Hoping the skies are clear for full moon viewing. It should be a good night to view the moon here.
Now to explain why I haven't been around much the last moon cycle.
This last month has not been a very happy month for me. Spent most of my free time, aside from doing the mundane things that need to be done, with my Aunt in Hospital, Rehab center, back to hospital, to hospice. Sadly, much as she wasn't ready to quit, her body was. The setbacks allowed the cancer to start growing in her brain again before they could do the therapies that may have delayed that. She passed on Dec 5th at the age of 68.
Much as I am trying to be happy I had an Aunt Tigger in my life and not sad she's gone, it's been really hard not to be sad.. She didn't want us to be sad, but celebrate her life. I'm trying and will be going to the zoo today with my Mom.
In less than two months from diagnosis and two surgeries, she is gone. I still need to ask my cousin, her daughter, if she chose the angel statue on her memorial card in reference to Dr. Who. Tig was quite the fan.
I remember when my brother was a teenager and I was barely a teenager asked Tigger if we should keep calling her Tigger. She said you better, because anything else would mean I'm old. That was my Tig.
OK, for more unhappy news from my little part of the world, my cousin in Minnesota lost his wife of 48 years to an aneurysm in her heart, in November. Much as he rushed down his driveway to meet the ambulance, they live in rural Minnesota. Unfortunately, she was unable to hang on all the way to the hospital.
Now for some hope. Much as we have to wait until January to find out if my step father's immune therapy is working, I am remaining optimistic, we need some good news in my world.
Fortunately my furry child, Guy, is well and good, and unharmed from his Christmas photo shoot. He's such a good sport. You will have to wait until Christmas for any further explanations. ;-)
As for me, I'm fine, even though there will be no WOMAD for me next year. Still contemplating whether I should or shouldn't make an attempt at the Shetland Folk Festival next spring. Not sure I should spend the money, but I could use a little adventure. Might leave enough time to hit some of Northeast Scotland as well. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Hopefully my next full moon update will be less depressing, but that's how life is sometimes. Unfortunately, this is something that gets much more common as we get older.
In the mean time gearing up for a Happy, though perhaps slightly sad Christmas. This was Tigger's season, so we can't be too sad, she'd get mad at us for that. I don't have to go to work again until next Wednesday. Which is why I'm doing a day/night at the zoo with my Mom. They do their winter lights so are opened late, which works great for my schedule.
Hoping everyone is doing well. Reading your posts often puts a smile on my face and perhaps some spray on my phone.
Wishing everyone a festive season.

Beware, if you sing this song over and over to small children that are just learning cognition skills, they may believe wen you say "I'm the only one!" They may believe your name is Tigger. I'm glad she did, I'm glad we did, Not everyone gets to have a Tigger in their life.
