Very sad news, Jeremy Hardy has died at the age of 57. A very very funny man, well known for his regular radio appearences on shows such as The News Quiz and I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. I was lucky to see him on stage a couple of times. RIP Jeremy.

It is very sad news. I saw him a couple of times in Buxton. The first time he had originally been booked in the (Frank Matcham designed) Buxton Opera House, but it didn't sell very well so they moved it into the (smaller) Pavilion Arts Centre next door. His opening line as he walked on stage was "Frank Matcham. Great theatre designer, but totally overestimated my future popularity" His pre-show music was a Humphrey Littleton piece, and it was obvious that he had a lot of love and respect for a dear departed friend

An absolute tragedy, genuinely funny guy, true voice of the left. I only saw him once, at Musicport in 2016, it was a real privilege.
Don't understand why Womad can't manage a comedy stage. Went to Tommyfields last night, comedian's were Danish, Russian and Chinese. Bound to be popular.

Odd to be feeling so sad in connection with Jeremy - so many tears shed in aching, breathless laughter with his insight, humour and electric narrative. Christ, there's a hell of a fabulous addition to heaven's choir tonight ........... knock 'em for six, Jeremy. Will miss you. x

My favourite line from the news quiz was from Jeremy Hardy. The topic was unwelcome attention.
He admitted that he once had a problem with a stalker....it was every morning when he got up.
Managed to see him a few times and was always at the top of his game. A great loss to comedy, politics and social awareness.
