We have arrived at Boryspil, now wait for the train to Kyiv to depart.
Cold, dry, sunny and we are grinning like Cheshire cats.

Curious...are you standing VIP at the front or is it seating? Not clear on the ticket.
Looks an amazing venue though.

Just had an amazing veggie meal washed down with a bottle of tasty Ukrainian Chardonnay.
On the way back to our AirBnB I bought a 1/4 bottle of Ukrainian mint vodka (recommended by a very helpful shop assistant) for around £1.50!
It is very nice
Does anyone what the Ukrainian work is for hamsters.

Today we visited Independence Square and was the memorial to the peace camp and subsequent battles with the state police in late 2013 and early 2014.
It was very moving and humbling to see.
The protests and determination of the people to stand up against the government and the brutality of the police was one of the things that inspired Del to take the flags to WOMAD in 2014.
We then visited a small exhibition about the protests and we spoke to a man who had taken part in the protests. He travelled back and forth from his home town some 500km to take party in the protests.
Del told him about taking the flags to WOMAD and passing the out before Dakhabrakha play as an act of solidarity. He knew who Dakhabrakha were and thought it was "very cool".

This evening were made our way to the palace of sport in a stated of slightly scared excitement.
When the doors to the arena opened we found our seats (in block of special red seats down the front!)
The support band were part of the arts group which Dakhabrakha sprung from, the started the show with a 4 piece punk folk rave band, which morphed into an ensemble punk folk rave opera band!
No interval, just a short pause between bands (a test for the bladder)
And then
Dakhabrakha
They were amazing, playing old and very new tunes. It was wonderful to hear the crowd react to the intros and the sing along.
The staging was brilliant, Del will post pictures when I can, you can see some on his Twitter feed @sideburns1970
Towards the end of gig the loon dancers rush the front of the stage and Del joined them.
Dakhabrakha then played and encore, Baby which everyone sang along too.
The crowd started to drift away apart from the loons.
Then Dakhabrakha came back for one last song, a real encore only the second time we have experienced at a gig!
Then it was time to head back to out apartment and Del finished off the Polish vodka.
