just when we though things couldn't get worse.... someone found the bottom line on an excel spreadsheet and 16,000 positive cases were missed and the orange one went for a drive risking the life of the other humans stuck in the car with him infection rates, positive cases and deaths are all increasing yet the school stay open and the pub shut a bit earlier. our "leaders" continue to blame the public even though the public are doing what they ask them to do ...until they ask the public for votes, hopefully... but don't hold your breath... or rather, do hold your breath! |

This administration has lied so much and seem to be able to get everyone around them to lie as well. They can't take responsibility for their mistakes and continue to double down on stupid instead. It's just insane. We just need to vote him and as many of his minions out this election. Will that solve all the problems in the world? No, but it would be a huge step in the right direction. |

Well the SNP talked tough, and promised a lockdown, then realised their focus groups didn't like it, so bottled it and closed the pubs and cafe which sold alcohol, the back tracked and told cafes they could open but no sell alcohol. According to the SNP the raise in case is linked to people going to bars and cafes, and not the school, colleges and universities opening. Sadly the official figures tell a different story.  |

We also got a update from our dentist as the SNP scottish government annouced that all NHS treatment would restart on the 01/11. Sadly the SNP hadn't told anyone they were going announce this, including the dental association and the dentist don't have any guidance on how they can operate safely and follow covid19 protocols.
if this was the UK government it would be all over the news but as it's the SNP there wasn't a mummer..........

My dentist has a Covid question list to fill out when you get there. You call when on arrival. Wait in your car, which is great, better music. They call when ready for you. You wear a mask when entering. All their staff wear masks. They take your temperature take you to your seat. Only then do you take off your mask. Had a feeling C19 was going to spike again which is why I got everything that needed to be done before September was over. |

so there may be a vaccine.......... It shows promise, but having to be stored at -80C makes it not a very available vaccine. Not sure many pharmacies have that capability, which means they will have a short time to use them before they are no good. It also is still not known how long the protection lasts and its effectiveness in the very young and very old. Also, we don't know how it acts with other vaccines, will this vaccine neutralize or make less effective other vaccines? This and safety reasons, is why most vaccines take 4 or more years to create and release to the public. Even so, it is promising and in the long run may be better than nothing. In the meantime, masks worn by everyone and not just those willing to do so is still the best bet for now. And yes, much as I want a vaccine like everyone else, I am overly cautious, none of the vaccines, no matter how promising have been fully vetted yet. The good thing in the states is we are about to get rid of one malignant disease out of the White House. All we can do is hope the House and Senate (not a lot of hope with the Senate, they are the ones that released him on us) can contain him for two months. I do have faith our Generals will not launch Nukes just because he wants to. |

so the SNP have decided to put us in level 5 as of Friday, which is level 4
this basically means stay at home, most shops shut, travel to other areas will be illegal but keep sending your children to school so they can sit in a room with 30+ other people all day..........

What really gets to me is the complete absence of any strategic intent at all. There are basically two choices, either enforce mask wearing/hand washing/social distancing but otherwise let people get on with it and let the virus run its course, or lockdown fully for a relatively short time and try to eradicate it. Sweden opted for something close to the former so no-one has had to endure the trauma of lockdown, NZ opted for the latter, have very few cases/deaths and life is back to normal. Who the f..k knows what we were trying to do?! In practice we have suffered an extremely high case/death count and all the damage that lockdowns do. If Johnson was CEO of UK plc, he'd have been fired months ago. As it is, it seems that being a bumbling amateur is just fine if you are PM of the UK.

Better bumbling than totally callous doesn't care about anyone's life, but his own detrimental Trump. Then again, much as your PM makes fun of Trump, it does seem he'd like to emulate him as well.
Much as COVID has hurt small private businesses the most, it's the billionaire class of corporations that have lost their humanity and see us merely as walking money that should be theirs and hate the lockdowns the most. They also have the political clout to make politicians forget who they are sworn to serve, all of the people.
Many of these companies have insurance policies should an employee die, they claim, so as they can replace and train the replacement without actual expense to the corporation. After all, our sudden deaths can be so inconvenient to the bottom line.
Too many have reached the point that enough will never be enough. Some will pretend to be altruistic, even funding help programs. In one case, reaching towards the moon or mars even. Donating to each others foundations. That's what they use to stoke their ego and project an illusion of caring, but how they treat the people that actually make them their money, the employees, whether in their country or another, that is the tell as to who and what they really are.
