Gaia is fighting back with Floods, fires and now pestilence. May be those who wrote the Bible knew this truth which we seem to have forgotten and the New Jerusalem is in fact an almost human free, cult free, world; must go Suppers Ready! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_hypothesis

Crikey, Trump has just criticised Boris’s initial covid19 plan (build up herd immunity, despite the amount of deaths this would produce over time). Pot, kettle and all sorts to get your mind round on this.

Pissed off with two colleagues when I had to go into work. One, a couple of weeks ago, suggesting the virus was engineered and released by China so all their fault. The other, on Monday, stating that it is all a ploy by ‘higher powers’ and is it not curious that we do not personally know of any one who has contracted the disease. Utter bollox, or even if true, we have far more important things to be worrying about at this time. Especially the second colleague, he has found this from fake bogus rubbish posts through the media (internet). All it is doing is diverting our attention from a) what we need to be doing to protect ourselves and others, and b) creatin* a diversion away from the poor performance of this government in the early days (herd immunity) which has led to unnecessary death (imho). Conspiracy theory? Yeah, I got one, there are are a load of bastards out there creating fake news, theories and conspiracies. Now that is one story that is not fake!
Sorry, bit of a rant there but that is what happens when you are stuck at home working, have a G and T and then catch up on the news.

Yeah, had a few of those at work too, until two drivers tested positive and a we can neither deny or confirm that a driver that passed away recently was one of them. 5 other people are having to stay home as a precaution. Management has been slow addressing the situation, but are getting there. Thankfully, most of us employees stepped up for their short comings and have been doing the best we can providing disinfecting cleaning wipes and stuff on our own. Though I'm going to run out this week, because I didn't panic shop and thought I'd use what I have, that usually lasts me much longer, before getting more. However, they may have some for us soon, so that would help, as this crisis should not be entirely out of pocket from the employees. But, we do care about our customers and for those that have to go home to their families, it's to their benefit to be cautious too. My biggest worry has been getting it and passing it before knowing I have it. Which amazes me when I try to keep people at a distance, they look at me like I'm nuts and I swear some try to get closer. After all, there are, as you said, people that just don't get it, don't believe it's real and more importantly they think they are magically immune or something. Trump's believers are the worst. Let's face it disinformation is a big problem. That said, I don't know if I have it, but am going to make a few phone calls and probably not go to work today to err on the side of caution. We are working, but work is slow, so not really going to be a problem if I don't go to work today. Much as I try to be careful, doesn't mean everyone else does. Plus there are places in the building, like the locker room I keep my work stuff in that makes it hard to keep a distance. Someone complained about having to touch the key pad, so they duck taped the door, which you still have to touch to push it open, so now there are more people than ever going in there. If my stuff wasn't in there, I wouldn't go in there. Ironically, some of that same disinformation coming from Russia, might be causing a problem for them there, which is why they have made some incredibly prohibitive laws this week, for something that until recently Putin was calling a foreign problem. Many Russians thought Putin was just giving them a holiday, because of that, so it's hard for some of them to wrap around that he's been lying about that.

So difficult isn’t it, we changed tactic, went lockdown, since last week, we have 1 million new Universal Credit applicants, how do we recover from that? It’s huge, Sweden, stays open, stays with “herd immunity” theory. But they have different population base, different infrastructure etc. But will be interesting (is that the right word with something so serious), how the two countries compare. Future generations will learn a lot from this.

The only reason more people don't know people that have it is, because there is not enough testing going on. Add, me to one of those that might have it, gets to stay home for 10 to 14 days, but there is no test for me. If these were normal times, I would have probably considered going to work today, but these are not normal times. I'm glad I didn't, because the symptoms that were barely noticeable earlier today are becoming far more noticeable as the day has progressed. Typing this out now, because I'm not that bad yet, but my brain has been just not all there for me suddenly. Which I found out on my video Dr thing, is one of the symptoms. The test my doctor's office has takes about two weeks to get a result, so not much use except to test critically ill people, so you at least know whether they died from it or not. By the way, they didn't say that, that was my thought, though probably theirs too.
We have great health care in America, but our system stinks. I'm fortunate to have reasonably good insurance. It's not as good as it used to be, but better than what a lot of people have.
The sad thing is, there are better faster tests, the World Health Organization offered them to the USA, but for the extra messed up Trump bureaucracy, it's made things far worse than it had to be. President Obama handed them 'how to handle a pandemic' on a platter, including with a team of specialist doctors and such, but the Trump Republicans so want to do the opposite of what the intelligent black guy did right. They don't care if they do everything wrong as long as it's not what President Obama did. Or in many cases, blow up what he did, just to resign it with their title, but little to no changes. Since their base has their heads so far up their collective asses, they believe everything the Orange Turd says, even if it contradicts what he said the day, or even hours before. The only reason the Republicans started caring at all, is they finally realized viruses don't attack based on party lines no matter how hard they pray, and a lot of their voters are old and or with health conditions.
Even so, they are still wanting to throw money without a thought to corporations, most of which have billions hoarded in offshore accounts, not to mention over paid corporate management that could more than afford a pay cut. Yet they are laying people off left and right and will likely give themselves bonuses out of tax money just like they did when G.W. Bush was President. Of course, working people have to jump through hoops to get a pittance. I think corporations taking money, that should be based on what they've paid in taxes for say the last 10 years. Oh, you paid no taxes, tough, you've been receiving an annual bailout fund already. Yeah, I know, if only what was right was.
Beside so many workers that are effected by Covid-19 I do feel for a lot of small businesses and especially local pubs and restaurants. Especially as, a lot of them are doing far more for their employees than most corporations. This is extremely painful for them, and the government is not throwing lots of money at them.

I guess that's where we are luckier, our Government is throwing money at them and their workers. Lots of Grants etc for business and paying 80% of wages of staff furloughed. Hopefully, we can manage or find an exit strategy and businesses are still there for workers to return to

"Self Isolation" don't get testing over here either! Really hope you are well ZenRider, these are shit times and we must stick together. Don't be disheartened or distracted by the hateful posts that want to sow distraction, doubt, misinformation and harm to humanity.

Humanity must stick together, ignore the people that want to seed doubt or blame, especially those that do it because of the colour of the label worn by the speaker, now is not the time to worry about the colour, let's come out the other side stronger and healed. Then heal the world and politics. Let everyones voice count, let the world breath.

Don't feel that bad right now and hopefully it won't get too bad. Got all my paperwork for Emergency Paid Leave and informed work of my situation. Good thing is there is nothing I really need to go out for. Am going to look at having some off the counter medicines delivered, don't have any 'Tylenol' and they recommend that more than Aspirin, which I usually prefer for things. Once I see how they are going to be shipped, I might put my mail on hold for a week. One less thing, right?
