Del had a bit of trouble getting an self isolation letter from the NHS website as at first it wouldn't allow you to post date it, luckily someone tweaked the website and he was able to get the certificate and send it to his work.
He is sure he hasn't had Covid19 so he still has that to look forward too

He is sure he hasn't had Covid19 so he still has that to look forward too The larger problem is, like most colds and flus, it's very possible you can get it again. Am hoping having had it, my body will handle it even better next time. It's a one time deal at my work too. If I get it again I will have to file disability with my union. A lot of people won't be able to do that. So, as this goes we will likely find more people masking symptoms to try to work through it. will probably be a bigger problem in the fall and next winter, unless it somehow dies down on it's own. Though I'm pretty sure the Doctor is right that I have Covid-19, it would be better if we could reliably and quickly test everyone to be sure. Having a flu shot doesn't rule out the flu, but does make it less līkely. Colds and flues rarely take me more than a couple of days to throw. The fact that it persists pretty much clinches it, just glad I haven't been too sick, at least not yet and really for those that have been. Even so, I've never had anything persist like this.

Anyway, stay safe mate, looking forward to sharing a few drams with you. I wouldn't be surprised if you have had it already, there seems to have been a hell of a lot of bugs this year. Stay safe xx

Stay safe xx Cal caught the bug Del had but because of guidelines and advice from his GP he had to start 7 days of isolation. At that point there was no system to get an isolation certificate and the GPs were too busy to issues them. When Del was first as to get one by his employer he had already completed his 7 days isolation and been at work for over a week. The NHS website would only let you record an isolation period starting from 7 days before. Luckily this error was correct and now anyone can apply for one but only from the start of the self isolation advice being issues.

Time will tell if it's a one time only illness

Time will tell if it's a one time only illness I doubt it will be a one time only, but I'd take a couple of years immunity. This is why we need testing, as though it seems more obvious than not that I have it, I'd like to know for sure. Of course, even with any kind of immunity I would keep wiping things down, washing hands, and such to slow or even help stop the spread. Probably better people not know how long they can't get it for, until a vaccine is made, as some people would be selfish, I can't get it again, so why do I have to blah, blah, blay... Our governments can only do so much, and mine and others have done very little. The ones taking a gamble on herd immunity I fear for the most, so it's going to be up to the regular people to contain this as best we can.

BTW, before I had to stop going into work, one of the Trump fanatics actually asked me, "Well, do you think Hillary would have done better?" Without missing a beat, " Most definitely yes. How couldn't she have done better?"

BTW, before I had to stop going into work, one of the Trump fanatics actually asked me, "Well, do you think Hillary would have done better?" Without missing a beat, " Most definitely yes. How couldn't she have done better?" Of course. She would not have cancelled the measures Obama had put in place to research and prepare for such crisis. Plus you can be certain she would not be putting her efforts into trying to blame Obama for the mess a new president had put the country in. it is similar here, conservatives spent over ten years blaming the last labour government. But it was a recent health secretary who decided to do away with a stockpile of PPE and other resources as these were deemed too expensive during times of austerity.

Rereading some of my posts I've found an occasional sentence that makes little to no sense. Maybe it should be called the Trump Flu.

Here in Jockland the SNP have a PR disaster when the chief medical officer was sacked for not following her own guidance to stay home.
The SNP tried to use a personal please by mrs sturgeon to calm the storm but when that didn't work mrs sturgeon told the chief medical officers she had to resign and after a long discussion she agreed to resign.

Boris is now in intensive care.
We wish him no ill but it was clear he wasn't getting better no matter how hard he lied about his health on his Twitter posts.
