Yes but... every time I switch it on, it reminds me how much I am missing the real thing, and I have to switch it off again...

Nicely done, and followed, no doubt, by the suitably decorated Dark Matter Cake from the Physics Pavilion - one step beyond Taste The World, we can now Taste The Universe!

it very wet at our end of the world, we are very glad not to be packing up our wet bell tent this morning as it needs to dry before it goes back into storage

Are you suggesting we only ever have virtual WOMAD in future just so we do not have to pack wet tents 🤪 packing up in the rain, carrying it all to the bus...that's one bit of womad that I wouldn't miss...

it very wet at our end of the world, we are very glad not to be packing up our wet bell tent this morning as it needs to dry before it goes back into storage Same in Sunny Buxton. Been raining most of the day. Thankfully it eased off early afternoon so I could get to the shops (then chucked it down again when I got back home), and stopped in time for me to go on a socially-distanced walk Very glad I didn't have a wet tent to pack away in the rain, especially as I don't really have anywhere to hang it up in this flat. So today's weather was perfectly timed in that respect

I wasn't looking forward to the weekend - I thought I'd struggle with there being no Womad and end up being a bit miserable. But I tuned in to Radio Womad for a lot of the time and really enjoyed it. Some good archive sessions and tracks which brought back good memories. Good t ohear Cal and Del getting mentioned several times, once referred to as 'hardcore' Womaders!
I also watched some of the videos I recorded back in 2008, my first Womad experience. Some great discoveries - Sean Kuti, Rachid Taha, Hossam Ramzy, Toumani Diabate, Speed Caravan, Orchestra Baoboab etc. Though sad that Rachid Taha and Hossam Ramzy both passed away last year.
