Happy Full Harvest Moon!
Slightly late, but tonight Mars is hiding behind the moon much of the night.
The world is still crazy and C-19, as expected, still a thing.
Aside from that things are pretty much the same. Have been on vacation the last two weeks, but instead of a staycation, it's been more of a workation. Got a lot of projects done. Some minor roof work on the house to help it last as long as possible. The roof isn't that old, but the weather we've been having has taken a toll. Did some dusting in the house, because last week was excessively hot. Don't worry, my house is still a disaster, but slightly less dusty.
Dentist visit, routine kind this time. Have another appointment on the 21st, then should be good until next year.
Got a tire replaced that had a bulge in it. Which was one of the reasons my two to two and a half day project took more like 4 days. Won't get into the details, aside from, they had to order the tire. Went back two days later, thought I'd take out the key for the lock nuts and couldn't find it. Last oil change and tire rotation they must have forgot to put it back in. The good thing is, the dealership owed me a new set anyway, but took too long to get the tire that day, so got that early today, before finishing the camper project. When I realized I needed to do more than I thought I was going to have to do. The project making my camper not leak. The only part I didn't get complete was recoating the roof, and need a little more caulk, but not for anything that is leaking, yet. Ended up having to replace the AC unit seal, where I did have a leak issue. which turned out to be time consuming, but not particularly difficult. Found out much of my leak problem stemmed from whoever replaced the seal last time. They did a crappy job and irregularly and over tightened it. Plus, some damage to the roof. So, new seal, some fresh sealant to fix where they tore the aluminum roof, and hopefully all is good in the world for that issue. Caulked the edges and around the front vent and refrigerator vent. Ran out before I got to the back vents and where the ladder attaches on the roof. Those didn't look bad, so, yeah not too worried. Also had to replace the toilet vent, which took a lot longer than the guy on YouTube did it. Largely, as the caulk around it was far more set, old and stiff on mine, than the one he did. I still need to put a few things inside the camper back together, but otherwise good enough for now. Will need two days together to coat the roof. In the meantime, it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so will find out sooner than later if my work did the trick.
Parents are doing well, but my Stepfather has been on and off the cancer meds, because of his blood levels. Scary, but he's doing pretty well. He had a lesson on his horse today, and helped me out with my project by getting the seal for the AC unit for me. He happened to be driving through my town when I called him. OK, I called my Mom first, but she didn't hear her phone. Called a few more times, got worried and called Tim. Turns out she was busy in her sewing room. However, since Tim was nearby, worked out better. Also a good thing we have an RV place between where we live.
Guy is doing well and I gave him a good scrub down bath last weekend. He actually seemed to enjoy it. Or probably would have more if the flies would have left him and me alone. Wish I could have spent more time just hanging out with him the last couple of weeks, but too much to do. OK, still too much to do, but I think, aside from some Guy time tomorrow, I'm taking tomorrow off. Just glad it's a holiday weekend, Labor Day, so I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday.
Now for some cake!
Happy Birthdays!
and a belated birthday wish!
