There used to be quite a buzz here around Eurovision... I got press ganged into watching it this year and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Really hated the OTT visuals and the 2nd half which went on forever with endless filler and repitition... I didn't really like the French or German entries - and I think Israel should have been shown the door. Apart from that it wasn't so bad - even Graham Norton wasn't too annoying.

The French entry should have won, it was an amazing song. The Switzerland entry which was leading was boring and tedious. The Italian was a performance rather than a song, should have been a legitimate entry? The french people were not impressed because, allegedly was plagiarised from a french hit a few years back. Compare this With the winning song eurovisionworld.com/esc/italy-wins-eurovision-song-contest-2021Nothing new with some plagiarism, Jack white got credited with the Israeli winner after a court case decided part of seven nation army was in the song. The Italian song is just such a blatant copy though (IMO)

We always enjoy Eurovision here, it never fails to entertain!
Agreed, Graham Norton wasn't as annoying as he usually is, and I thought there were some pretty good entries this year. I particularly liked France and Switzerland, and Ukraine. And it was good to hear several entries sung in languages other than English too.
Again the UK entry was very poor, though I can't see how it was beaten by Germany, who looked as though they made a special effort to come last.

Oh yes the Ukraine entry. Thought Graham Norton was a bit dismissive of them and they were not doing very well with the professional judges scores. But it was a good song, fusing traditional music with a modern twist and they got a very high score from the viewers (including the Uk allocation).

I didn't watch Eurovision, but have since listened to the winners Måneskin. Have fallen for them big time and downloaded their two albums. English lyrics aren't their strongest point, so I prefer the songs in Italian. A proper band, who have been together for a number of years, working away, winning Eurovision. How heartening. Can't believe they are only 21-22 years old. Nice! From their Twitter I have seen that they have Steve Van Zandt's and Simon Le Bon's seal of approval.

we watched Eurovision on catch up a day late, this worked well as we could skip throw the dull bits
Del liked the Portuguese entry
as for the UK coming last, what else did anyone expect
The winning song was okay, we didn't realise that they had a platinum selling album

So are Puuluup the only band that have appeared at both Womad and Eurovision? Marina Satti, the Greek contestant, also played Womad last year. She was rather good, but I didn't like her Eurovision entry
