Sad news that 'Big Jeff' was recently seriously injured in a fire at his home in Bristol. He's a legendary gig-goer (maybe even more so than Beanstew!), and is to be seen at many gigs, down at the front centre stage. He's a talented artist, too. I've never met the guy, but have seen him at Womad a few times and elsewhere.
Wishing him a speedy recovery.

This is very worrying and as well as his gig going, music knowledge and paintings, he is a really nice guy who will always talk to you.
He had not been to Womad since the site was changed about but he was coming back to Bristol gigs and sure he would have been attending loads of festivals in the summer (including Glastonbury later this month). I am hoping he will make it to Green Man in August but it does seem unlikely.

Del has spoke to him a few times at WOMAD and stood next to him too.
Lovely guy who simply love his music being creative and going to gigs.
Hopefully he'll be back down the front soon.

Oh dear! Glad I spotted this. I’ve met Big Jeff a couple of time when I’ve been hanging out with Beanstew, hope he’s OK and hasn’t mussed too many gigs.

One of the charities I became heavily involved in a few years ago is a burns charity. One of the takeaways is that it is a painful longhaul, with many operations ahead, both for grafting and to relieve scar tissue issues. New eye lids and noses can be made and I have seen facial reconstruction using Matriderm; just amazing.
Jeff may need to come to terms with a new appearance or a visible difference, there are charities to help with this too.
One things for sure the music/ gig scene will accept him back whatever and look forward to seeing him at Womad next year.
