Excited for my first Womad in 20 years!

Getting excited now! Im 54 and was in my 20s and went to 3 Womads when it was in Reading. I have this memory of a troop of Indian women playing clay pots and tabla - including throwing the clay pots in the air and hitting yhem as they fell , at different heights got different sounds. If anyone could tell me who they were id be so grateful!
We were all smoking joints openly and as there was no bad behaviour police and security let it be. Guess you cant get away with that anymore!
Will the little tea tent be there?
Glamping as back now old and buggered and sleeping on floor not an option now lol and my best mates uncle died and left her 180 grand. They united over music so it seems apt to be celebrating his memory in this way.
Oh - saw Peter Gabriel at Glasgow hydro couple of weeks ago - that was a fabtastic night ! Long live PG
Have downloaded the app but prefer to wander round as the spirit moves and not ‘plan’ my festival.

Can't say there may not have been people smoking a joint here and there last year when I was there, but is not without legal risk depending on current laws in the UK. It will be up to your own risk evaluation.

Hey Lynne, I think you will find that Womad is the same but different (if that makes any sense) so if you enjoyed it 20 years ago, you should have a great time this time too. I certainly will!
