I have to say that the subtle layers of meaning in the Magnetic Fields' original were lost in PG's overblown string-drenched cover - but I'm happy that it paid off for Stephin Merritt... saw Magnetic Fields at Womad 2001 - one of the rare occasions where an existing favourite played the festival.
