Just booked for Claudia Aurora at Cafe Barcelona on the 24th May. More fado! Meilyr Jones next week. Great post BS - don't know that venue,. Just googled it and saw that gig is part of World Music Festival. The wonderful Olcay Bayir is on the following night

I may check out Claudia Aurora. I was slightly put off by the Mariza and Ana Moura gigs earlier in the year as bit pricey

I would be very tempted by Olcay Bayir myself but am already booked for Marissa Nadler at St. John on Bethnal Green that night. I went with her as not so many opportunities to see her over here especially in a lovely old church. Claudia clashes with Red Sky July and Larkin Poe which was a fairly tough call!

Saw John McCusker (and band) last night at the ever reliable Nettlebed Folk Club. Very lucky that other folkies, Megan Henwood and Jackie Oates were in attendance and they performed 4 tracks at half time. Fantastic evening. Left the gig and it was snowing (abit)
p.s. Didn't buy myself a raffle ticket this time

How was it? I looked at his tour dates, hoping to find he's playing out our local pub in Malmesbury, but sadly he's not. Really enjoyed his Chinese Dub set at CP in 2008, though I was too far back to see much of the mask changing.

Really enjoyed his Chinese Dub set at CP in 2008, though I was too far back to see much of the mask changing. It was sooooooo good, the musicians were awesome I knew one track of his previously from Top of the World issue 110 - Jah Wobble & the Chinese Dub Orchestra "L1", I researched a little this afternoon on youtube (well looked at the first 3 in the list) and only saw soft reggae/Dub, but tonight was mostly Jazz a bit of Reggea and a bit of PiL I was so impressed I have filmed a bit on the phone, if it sounds ok I may post tomorrow (NOT a copyright issue it's free marketing of their work by me). They can thank me later

Los Chinches, House Gospel Choir and Khiyo at lovely Rich Mix tonight. I only know Khiyo (Sohini Alam from Lokkhi Terra's other band) but the other two sound fun from the write up on the Rich Mix site.
