First Man
the story of Neil Armstrong and his journey to the moon (well kind of)
Del has read a number of books about lunar landing and Mr Armstrong so he was hoping for an insight into his life however the film never really answer any question but fall back on a tried and tested spielberg emotive back story.
The film is well made and action scene are very well done and do feel like you landed on the moon with Neil and Buzz. The acting is good too but you can pick out the Oscar scenes.

Possum "The debut feature from writer/director Matthew Holness, co-creator and writer/star of the cult TV series Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, this psychological thriller pays homage to the British horror films of the ‘70s. The film’s abstract exploration of a man’s isolation and abandonment is accompanied by a compelling soundtrack from the legendary electronic BBC music studio The Radiophonic Workshop. Disgraced children’s puppeteer Philip (Sean Harris), returns to his childhood home of Fallmarsh, Norfolk, intent on destroying Possum, a hideous puppet he keeps hidden inside a brown leather bag. When his attempts fail, Philip is forced to confront his sinister stepfather Maurice (Alun Armstrong) in an effort to escape the dark horrors of his past." Del saw it today, he will be sleeping with the lights on tonight. Possum

Stan and Ollie last night, brilliant apart from the pillock sat just by me (until I moved) munching loudly on popcorn, belching after swigging on coke and giving himself a running commentary on the funny parts of the film. Thought Mary Queen of Scots was a bit light and lacking, an ok film flamboyant with the historical records (I came out thinking I knew mor about MQoS from an episode of Blue Peter back in the 70’s. Not a patch on the favourite. Seeing Some Like it Hot tonight, yes the B&W version with Marilyn Monroe, jack lemmon, etc. It is a one off charity showing...and shows the6 don’t make films like that @ny more.
Have been subjected to the previews for ‘fisherman’s friends’ film, anyone else seen this preview yet? It looks so corny and awful, nic3 story about Cornish fishermen ending up on stage at Glastonbury, but come on, it is just a rehash of othe British comedies such as full monty etc. And the jokes do not get any better.

A Private War
the bio pic of Marie Colvin
The film cover Marie coverage of some the worlds most horrific wars and charts her professional drive, relationships failings and the person cost her reporting cost her.
Rosamund Pike puts in a very powerful and the films doesn't shy away from the brutally of war
This is not an easy watch and could leave feeling shell shocked which is why it such a good film.

Watched Vice on the weekend, biography of Dick Cheney. Watchable and enjoyable - if only it was all made up and not about how one power hungry career politician/businessman managed to single handedly f*** over the world.

Yes, I am sure the filmmakers made him look the bad guy wh3n really he is just a lovely cuddly teddy bear in real life. fyi...if you do go to see Vice, don’t be too quick to walk out at the 3nd of the film, if you get what I mean.
