Sunday was the last day of the Glasgow Film Festival and Del saw 2 films which were a double bill
Del really enjoyed both parts of a bread factory, the tale of a small town art centre in the USA fight for funding and the lives of the people who run it and also use it
Part 1 was a total delight from start to finish with healthy amounts of absurd and satire.
Part 2 ratcheted up the drama, tension, passion and madness. It also has a very different feel and I found the contrast an excellent counterpoint to part 1.

Went to see Wild Rose tonight. Really nice film about a wannabe Country music singer in Glasgow trying to make her name by heading for Memphis. Jessie Buckley is an absolute star and some great country songs thrown in. After saying that, got to say I was immensely disappointed by the end of the film. A music film set in Glasgow? Kept trying to spot Del in the film but not once did I manage to see him, tsk!

Lol it was on at the Glasgow Film Fest but Del isn't a country fan try to catch "her smell" if you like films about female singer song writers

The Fight, written, directed and staring Jessica Hynes
The wonder and powerful film tell the story of one woman's fight to be a mother, daughter, wife, carer and boxer
the film works on a number of levels and has a great cast!

It's been a while since I saw a really good, non-mainstream movie, but I did tonight. Return to Ithaca, engrossing story about life in Cuba these past 20 years, intelligent, thought provoking and to me at least, very very sad.
I am sure there are other Cuban experiences that could be told, but this felt real, and I guess for many, is real.

I thought it was brilliant (slated by the Guardian reviewer but what would he know).

John McEnroe In The Realm of Perfection Fascinating study of John McEnroe playing at the French Open in 1984. It does take a while for the strands of the film to pull together but you don't have to like tennis to enjoy this film as it more about John Mc the human being www.imdb.com/title/tt7966920/

Once upon a time in Hollywood
great performances of from Brad and Leonardo, killer script and soundtrack too
this films isn't driven by plot so don't go looking for one it all about the people
sadly the film lack a good female role but then it is set in the 1969 Hollywood
PS a young Steve McQueen has a cameo
