..a slight retrospective here because we received ACSS, The Source and 9Bach, Anian yesterday. Anian mainly for H who loves it. There is also a cd of poetry with it; which I really enjoyed - was in tears with one of them! H loves The Source straight off - for me, there is the potential to grow on me as while I enjoyed the familiar, the unfamiliar didn't wow me, but have only had first listen, so, as I say, it may grow.

We also watched and listened to Later Live - fab collaboration with Baaba Maal, Mumford and Sons, The Very Best and Beatenberg - would be a treat at Womad. Both quite taken with Christine and the Queens too.

And we watched andlistened to The Radio 2 Folk awards on Red Button - always fab and it was great being treated to a double helping of John McCusker.

Also listened to first hour of World on 3, saving the other for later today.

I've no idea. . . I'm playing the entire Radio 3 2011 Womad broadcast - currently an East European brass band (didn't catch the name) from the Friday on the R3 stage is rocking the Beef household! Now thinking: can I really miss Womad 2016?

ACSS The Source. 3rd time, unconvinced so far and the 'talking' track I cannot stand. I received this from the band - sad because I do feel there is something lacking from the latest offering.
