Not only did trump fail to honour the lives of American service men, because of the weather (perhaps that is why he never went to Vietnam, such poor weather there back in the sixties). He also completely cocked up where his wife originates from.... She is from the Baltic. He said, she came from the former Yugoslavia, comprising the Balkans! Most reasonable people figure the real reason Trump didn't carry out his presidential duties was Trump was meeting with Putin or one of Putin's most trusted delegates. Dishonoring the honorable and honoring the dishonorable are pretty much Trump's trademark. OK and he might not have wanted this to happen:

I found this story really disturbing but seems to be ‘quiet news’. Politicians lobbying to ensure high power military grade guns are not banned (despite pleadings from the police). Why do we need such weapons available that can fall into the hands of terrorists, extremists and criminal gangs? And although it sounds like an American story it is over here. Sajid Javid abandons plans to ban .50-calibre military-grade guns www.theguardian.com/world/2018/nov/23/sajid-javid-abandons-plans-to-ban-50-calibre-military-grade-guns?CMP=Share_iOSApp_OtherTu4ns our it is the same Brexiteers who are lobbying, the ERG led by Rees Moog, the DUP and (of all people) Kate Hooey. Is this their vision of Brexit Britain, a country dominated by US interests, with relaxation of gun controls foremost in their plans?

Obviously it's disgusting that the Quitters are stopping this, there is no reason anyone would want one other than to kill people or some sort of a need to prove their manhood due to "extremely small penis syndrome" but I'm also gobsmacked that they were and are legal here in the first place!

I find what the world governments, with the help of racist, self-serving bigots, fascists, etc. in general are largely doing lately very disturbing.
I don't know why anyone would want to live in a world where they only felt safe with a gun.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where the largest and most profitable business is weapons and war machines.

we have been avoiding the news but even so we couldn't help notice May taking a massive u turn, then the right wing of her party trying to push her out she has also agreed not to stand as PM at the next election! who knows what will have happened by the weekend It's all rather frightening that as our Country continues towards mass self harm and you look at our Parties and their Leaders: - Conservatives - Over a third of Conservative MPs vote against their Leader, Conservatives are traditionally loyal to their Party so the reality of respect towards their Leader must be far worse. - Labour - The majority of Labour MPs do not respect their Leader but can do nothing about it. - LibDems - Everyone recognises their Leader is too old, too low profile, too much baggage from his work in coalition and the Electoral System works against them - but at least they are trying to do something about resolving that. - UKIP - Their new Leader doesn't even pretend not to being a racist bigot by employing that twat from the EDL - Greens - Great but no hope under our Electoral system - SNP - Seem to be the only ones with their act together. Isn't it time for a Peoples Vote, new Electoral System and a new party? I suppose another solution could be for the SNP to change it's Foreign Policy a bit and expand south!

F***ing Brexit - a depressing, boring, embaressing, nauseating... anything else? Ridiculous, egregious... mendacious, tedious and completely predictable pantomime. I always hated pantomimes, even as a kid. How much longer? When can we go home?

Yeah, isn't it crazy, the Republicans think her being silly and dancing while a college student is horrible, yet are OK with Trump's treatment of women for decades. Vote on a Supreme Court Justice that I wouldn't even trust with my fish, let alone the laws that govern tens of millions of people. The hypocrisy and the whole the laws only applies when it's not me, sheesh. And more importantly, she's not breaking any laws. Now we have a government shutdown that Trump would love to perpetuate, because nothing his realtor and bank buddies love more than foreclosing and stealing homes from hard working people. BTW, the way to end the Trump shutdown is to keep reminding Trump and his rabid following that he was very clear that Mexico was to pay for the wall, so a shutdown over the ridiculous boarder wall is all his and their fault. Of course, they won't accept responsibility, because it's better for their ego to project their faults on others. I just keep calling it Trump's temper tantrum shutdown. Triple T Shutdown for short. Of course, he's doing this to not only screw with government union workers, but because he's terrified of all the investigations that will now be possible. It's the biggest distraction he could come up with. The sad thing is that they actually passed a budget, that he agreed to, then his masters through Fox News Hannity, etc. told him not to cave in without money for the wall. Frankly, they would have found another reason even if there had been funding for the wall. Which is the hard part over here is the amount of control the Republicans have over the media over here. Chicago's WGN was bought by Sinclair Media which has frighteningly lunatic fringe leanings. I have been having an increasingly hard time viewing video content through the BBC. Both on phone and home WiFi. Especially, video involving USA related stories. Hopefully, it's an innocent glitch, but it's not hard to wonder if it's intentional. Whatever happens, next week should prove quite interesting.
