we like the digs at pro gun culture and the Trump like bad guy there are a few things that we are not sure about how long will it take for the new Doctor to get use to being the Doctor and really settle into her new skin we are also wondering if the way the new Doctor relates to the other characters, especially the bad ones has changed. When a male Doctor challenged someone the tended to take a step back but so far the new female Doctor has had number of characters almost ignore her challenge (time travelling criminal and bossy american). Which sadly to be expected, the Doctor has lost male privilege. Though it will be interesting how the Doctor deals with mansplaining.

Well, that's crap news for Christmas Day! Hmmmmm seems there is no room in the schedule for Dr Who, preferring their very safe, very predictable lineup of, Strictly, Eastenders, Call the Midwife and (wait for it) Mrs Browns Boys. Guess christmas evening will will comprise an ‘escape from the room’ board game* and looking forward to the Christmas (?) special on New Year’s Day (or perhaps it will be a new year special which could explain it all) *they are quite good, clever and can be pretty tricky to complete.

New Years day - will just have to hold out for that! Not really keen on any of the other progs - but I still have Peter Pan Goes Wrong on hard disk, so that'll take the place of the Christmas prog; sorted!

Got to say, the bbc schedule is very unimaginative and (apart from DrWho changing days) is the same output they have put on for the the last ten years or so Just what we want on Christmas Day... craig revel hall dresses up as Scrooge. big fight kicks off in Albert Square, lots of shouting (LEAVE IT, HE’S NOT WORTH IT!), until a few flakes of snow and a truce is called will the midwife get through the Christmas Day snow to deliver the baby, of course she does thanks to a passing philanthropist some bloke dressed in drag breaks the fourth wall and every one collapses with laughter, before two of the ‘boys’ appear dressed up in rediculous Christmas fancy dress as they have a street job one step up from ‘golf sale’ there you have it, and apologies for breaking the ‘no spoilers’ rule oh, there is one highlight for all to enjoy Christmas Day. A new film of Zog based on the Julia Donaldson book.
