Womad 2016 - thoughts and plans on meeting up.......

Thought we could put some thoughts together, bearing in mind site plan has changed: ......

Thursday 1.45pm for 2pm

We need a place to meet for people who'd like to explore the arena at 2pm. Not sure whether the arboretum will be open beforehand or not, so maybe meet at 1.45 at the Info (Customer Service) tent (looks to be in the same place as last year) or somewhere else near one of the A or B entrances ....... thoughts welcome

Thursday 6.00pm for Webby at 7pm

We need a place to meet at 6pm. The bandstand (can't help thinking of Trumpton here) and the Golden Lion area would be good for both people who would and wouldn't like a pint. We have also met at the Info (Customer Service) tent in previous years and I'd be happy to hang out there incase anyone goes expecting to meet there and point them on.  Again, all thoughts welcome...


Friday

I know there will be people arriving on Friday - thoughts on a meet welcome, though I have to admit that I have never made a meet post Thursday.


Subsequent meets - thoughts welcome....I think there is usually a late night meet point nominated for night owls?

Hi SS,
Sounds really great. My Ipswich friends are highly unlikely to be coming to Womad this year, so a 7pm wave to them via Webby would give them some cheer.

I'll be arriving at Chippenham rail station around 1:30 ish, by the time I get onto site it will be about 2:30 dragging my fisherman's trolley behind me. So meeting up at 6pm is ideal.

A Friday meet up would be good too around 6pm....?

And don't get tempting me with those shiny things!!!! I'm easily distracted!

Bloohair, I'll be in the arena when you arrive, otherwise I'd drag with you - last thing you need is that hill!
Where would be best for the Friday meeting.... bandstand / Golden Lion / Info (Customer Service) tent or somewhere else?

I should be there early-mid afternoon on Thursday with the usual transport caveats. Looking forward to seeing you all again!

we will be overnighting in Bristol on the Wednesday night so we plan to get on site in the morning for a change (camping in the same place as the last few years)

we should be fine for the 13.45 meet up for a wonder around the arena

as for the 6.00 meet it would be better to meet up in one of the bars, the real ale bar gets our vote but their will be other watering holes available

Thursday 1.45pm - meet at info point (Customer Care Tent) for arena wanderings at 2.00pm - I like this - gets my vote

Thursday 6pm - we have Real Ale Tent (behind the Siam tent) and The Golden Lion (by the bandstand) both in the offing: Cal N Del each for Real Ale, Bloohair for Golden Lion ... Hotdrummer, were you Golden Lion too? Neither H nor I have a preference and so will be happy to go along with the majority.

best go for the golden lion (which we think is the old craft ale tent) as it a short walk

and real ale tent by the siam tent we think will be called the sledge and hammer and should have "beer garden"
