No worries SC - I always like to read your thoughts on our posts here... and the interesting musical exchanges... check out the series of great posts from the last year... and who can't love a bit of classic Mark Knopfler?
Anyway... a slightly clumsy edit to the start, but otherwise a brilliant track from one of my Womad-discovered all-time favourites

Gosh..... that was epic and intense SC - the notes added to the experience - I didn't realise that I would like Patti Smith...so much - don't know what else to listen to? What could follow? Well, without wishing to trivialise the genuis of Constantine's Dream, Dead Flag Blues is a track that I've loved for almost... getting on for 20 years, spanning different eras of my life... including a terrible time at work that required seemingly endless long days - ridiculously early starts and late finishes... I'd joke with a work friend about how this track provided the perfect soundtrack...but listening today, it feels more like an ominous accompaniment to the dark and surreal days that we're living in. OH .................... MY ...................... GOD ......................... stunning. Such poetry and synergy between to monologue lyrics and the emotion of the music .............. lyrics just packed full of thought provoking quotes "I opened my wallet but it was full of blood" ........... and yet there is still hope and peace of mind to come, for me the music in the last section of music, the last 2 or 3 mins seemed to say that. Goodness, it does make me ask the question, "Why is there such awesome stuff out there that I have never heard of before?" Beef, they are on tour! Monday 23 October - Brighton Dome, I'll be trying to persuade Mrs SC www.songkick.com/artists/182957-godspeed-you-black-emperorThanks for such an awesome piece of music

On tour? Brighton Dome? That is dammed tempting SC - good luck with persuading Mrs SC. Due to a financially tricky September/October (5 family birthdays, including 3 "big ones" - including my dad who'?ll be 80(!), plus a crazy unplanned trip to Sicily, I think I'll have to see how it goes for now. But would love to go and maybe finally catch up for a beer or two...
...in the meantime here's to all that great music we've yet to hear!

I'm afraid this is a bit of an obvious follow on from Rachid - The Clash - Armageddon Time/English Civil War

Tricky one to follow SC - hope this isn't too obvious -ย beyond the Pogues/Strummer connection, I can hear similarities between English Civil War and the Pogues Medley... plus the subject matter. . . jeez this takes me back...

Absolute Classic Track ZR, did I tell the story of my hoping to go out/meet KB? When young I went out with my doctors' daughter and he (the Doctor/Dad) was friends with KB's Dad who was also a doctor. Although I didn't intend splitting up with my girlfriend I did kinda hope that her Dad would be invited to KB's Dad's BBQ or Party and we would also be invited and that KB would be there and talk to me and think that I was a very very kissable/awesome kinda guy that could be a part of her life........ never happened anyway, my favourite KB track, title track of my favourite album by her

Broadcast - Until Then (I've noticed that some of our previous YouTube links have disappeared, so I'm adding the band and song name to preserve that at least)

Yeah, the copyright and such rules on YouTube can be a bit infringing... Like the 'not available in your country' yet you can find the exact same video in your country. Much as I get it to one degree, some that complain shouldn't, because their music and such has never been so popular. Think free advertising, and very few on YouTube are making a lot of money or any. I haven't made a dime. I also, haven't really tried. Then again, none of mine are the type that are likely to go viral, which is OK.
