Zucchero - Never heard of him before, but that was stunning. Pogues Always a winner - you can't keep a good Tunbridge Wells Public school boy down love 'em and without a doubt the first time I saw them it was and still is the best gig of my life. It was at the Town & Country Club, The Pogues were there all week, my ticket The gig, well actually it's the next night to one I was at, but pretty much the same OK it's not one song but what the heck!

Nice that you retained your ticket as instructed SC! My first Pogues gig was also 1988 - although I think it was at Brixton Academy. . . I'll have to check if I retained my ticket... glad you like the Zucchero track - he's been one of the big names in Italian music since the early 80s (Mrs Beef is Italian. . . so I learn these things) He can still fill the Albert Hall and be remembered for this. . .

Ok storyline behind this one, first saw him supporting Bob Marley (well first band on out of 3 support bands) as the Q Tips, I was dreading it, at that point of my life, the only music was, Rock, Alternative, Punk and Reggae. Seeing a band on the programme described as "Northern Soul" left me feeling resigned to the fact that it would only be 40 mins to suffer and we could have a "Fat one" whilst we waited for them to finish. My God how wrong was I as they blew away and owned the stage, excluding Marley the Q Tips owned the day. When Paul Young went solo I loved "Love of the common people" and we went to see him (I think at the Earls Court), my God the horror of being at an event with thousands of screaming girls and all Paul did was to wiggle his bum at the audience. I should not have been there kinda kept quiet about that gig till now. This was filmed at the Hammy Odeon so not the gig I was at
