Hi forum nerds. You don’t mind being called that do we? I didn’t see many of you apart from Beanstew, or was it his double? Water. I just used ordinary tap water. It was ok and probably very similar to Womad water. Now improved by having multiple taps at each point. I found adequate outlets on the camp too by looking for the blue sign which were sometimes in the circular woods. Whilst on the H2O subject, I see the artistes are still using single use plastic bottles. Couldn’t they have a water dispenser onstage and be assigned a cup? Billy Bragg usually has a cuppa tea. Litter pickers. Great. Sad they should be necessary. Toilets good. My only problem is that being tall, there’s not much space the bend over to do a proper cleaning job or is that too much information? Bar staff lovely and smiley. I like the revised connection between the arboretum and the arena. Subtle but it worked. Pity the Ecotricity stage is so low/sight lines so poor when it’s crowded. What’s with these people who insist on keeping a chair erected in the middle of a heaving crowd. I had to tell a guy that it was dangerous. I think it must be something to do with territorialism. Hey ho. Off to do some songs at Lakes Folk Weekend Xx Oh and I forgot to mention the passing into history of the steam fair. Good or bad? We spoke several times over the weekend hotdrummer!! I assumed it was because you knew me as a forum nerd.....clearly not!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Oi, we chatted too! - a very interesting conversation about something very memorable, I'm sure - to the left of the main stage...can't remember anything else but you and I were definitely there and we were definitely enjoying a good chat! We didn't chat at the port and wine party though. You stood in the smoking circle

Port and cheese party definitely worked - I'm for keeping it for next year, but taking up Del/Cal's very sensible suggestion of 1 cheese each!...I'm assuming 1 bottle of port each too, though there may be other things which go well with cheese.....like onions?

Here's my two penneth (probably repeating a lot of what's been said already)...
- Line-up
I wasn't hugely excited by it beforehand, but I had a bloomin' good time and musically I though it one of the best ones I've been to so far. Just hope with the visa problems etc that Womad don't have to resort to using a lot of UK-based artists instead. While I'm still able to go, I don't think I'll ever give Womad a miss - looking around at other festivals, I don't think there's a festival that gets anywhere close to Womad in terms of putting on such a great, diverse selection of music from around the world. Well done Womad
- Water
I used Wiltshire tap-water all the time, rather than Womad water. It's the same stuff that I drink at home, so it's what I'm used to. I wish that the water points were displayed more prominently (evidently SC didn't see them) and shown on the site map. One evening I was abslutely parched and couldn't remember where the nearest point was. It was dark, and after wandering around for a while without sucess I resorted to having a pint in the Real Ale tent! - Litter
Not sure if it's down to the public, or the litter-pickers being super efficient, but the site was amazingly free from litter as usual - Toilets
Generally lasted well through the weekend, well stocked with loo roll and cleaning gel. I liked the men's urinals, but could do with cleaning gel positioned next to them. Unhygienic not to have any! - Stages
Fine, the bottlenecks of a couple of years ago seem to have been sorted now. But PLEASE, Womad, do something about the Ecotricity stage. I love the setting, but unless you're at the front, it's difficult to see anything of the stage. If the artists are sitting down, it's highy likely you'll see absolutely nothing. Surely something can be done to elevate the stage by a metre or so make it more visible? - The App
Like it - very useful for getting info on the artists, planning a schedule, and also for getting notifications of timetable changes. But I get the feeling that Womad are giving too much reliance on the app. For example, the timetable was available only on the app for quite a while, before it was added to the web site quite late on. Also timetabvle changes used to be displayed on notices around the arena, but I didn't see any this year. I just think that there may be a number of people who don't have access to, or would rather not use, the app. - Real Ale Tent
Good selection of beer. Very friendly staff!
And my daughter and boyfriend enjoyed the crazy golf!

Yes - comment about Ecotricity stage being invisible to all but those at the front is seconded here - I walked away a few times peed off at that! Stage definitely does need elevating - no point artists coming from all over just to disappear and not be seen!
