Last live music on Sunday night was enjoyed with several WOMADers on a WOmat and many more on their own mats and such, listening to relaxing guitar music. When we sadly learned of the passing of Nichelle Nichols, Lt Uhura from the original Star Trek series and so many other things.. No pictures, that I know of, of Bluehair Soo and me after a walk to the moon, entertaining the 20 something year olds at Molly's Bar with the bubble wands provided by Del. Attachments:

We arrived just before 08.00 on Thursday morning, got the the ticket exchange at 08.05 and walked into festival camping a few minutes later! The last 3 years seemed to evaporate. Cal is still struggling post covid but was able to manage a few hours each day walking around the site and catching the bands she wanted to see, the rest of the time she was happy to listen to the music from our tent. Del was worried about burn out but the more the weekend went on the more energy he seemed to have, he even managed a late night boogie in Molly's bar on Sunday night. As for highlights there were so many it's hard to list them all however the stand out was BCUC, Del managed to get doon the front and loon danced for the whole hour!!! Del was also picked out by the singer during one of his monologs to the crowd, "you with the old man white man's beard, do you still have dreams?". Topping it all off was a picture tweeted by one of the pit photographers. BCUC were at Green Man festival a couple of weeks back. For me, that was a better performance than WOMAD as I managed to get down the front and loon danced a la Del. Although I got a couple of looks (stares) off the singer, did not get mentioned in a monologue. Perhaps the absence of grey whiskers made me blend into the crowd a bit more. they were also at We Out Here festival and recommended seeing them to my niece. She said they were her highlight as well. |

Have been meaning to post this, but... I just received my order. I sprung for DHL delivery. If like me you forgot to get a WOMAD tshirt before they sold out. You may have a second chance here: store.realworld.co.uk/Men's t-shirts are currently only available in S or XXL, I must have gotten lucky when I placed my order, because I managed to get an XL. Maybe they will make some more sizes in the future? I also got a WOMAT.  |
