Just wish I was going... Is Standing Stone still around here? Not seen sc here for a while either... Maybe next year Beef?
During Womad last year, a Whatsapp group was set up for communication by attendees during the festival, and the group has continued to exist as a means of communication on things related to Womad. Some of us, e.g Zenrider, Cal and Del, myself, have continued to post to both this forum and the Whatsapp group. Hopefully Standing Stone and SC they will return to this forum as Womad draws nearer.
Good point well made 👍 SC shall return 😀

Hi everyone- we have had one drop out from our group (unfortunate end of relationship) so we have a spare 4 day ticket. If anyone on here could use it or knows someone who can’t afford to go then they are welcome to have it? That's a shame, hope you found someone who needed a ticket.

Looks like you may get a break in the weather long enough to pack up your wet gear. Hope it's not too difficult getting out of the parking areas and to the buses.

I thought it was a fantastic Womad, a great variety of awesome music, the friendliest people and the weather was kindish overall, with a touch of Womud right at the end which was quite nostalgic.
I hope everyone else had a fantastic time, and won't find too many things to complain about:)

Amazing weekend!
My highlights: Taste the World with Faith i Branko, Sam Kelly, Leenalchi ( can’t get their haunting music out of my head), Dele Sosimi and most of all, Amaraterra who really come to life in Taste the World Glenn Tilbrook in World of Words Michael Rosen in World of Words -couldn’t see him due to the huge crowd but I could hear him. Laughter Yoga - great fun to photograph Emcida Lova Lova Staples Junior Singers Dance Roots Africa especially their dance with the public in the torrential rain in front of the Open Air stage. WOMAD needs more dance. Lia de Itamarca - what fantastic performance The Indonesian Rendang curry stall - so good we went there twice Shepherds Ice Cream Tiny Tea Tent - real mugs and great place to people watch Bumping into old friends, including many we know from Purbeck The amazing stewards and security staff - all so friendly, helpful and cheerful. Thank you to the young security guy who checked I was ok when my hip nearly packed up on Friday! The atmosphere - as incredible as always! Glad to be back after a 5 year gap.
Lowlights The new compostable loos - impossible for anyone like myself with arthritis. I couldn’t physically life my legs high enough to climb the very steep steps. There were hardly any accessible ones and none in the camping areas. I got dehydrated because I didn’t dare drink. Relieved we booked into the premier inn as I would not have been able to camp under the circumstances. Neither of us could get any phone signal at all the whole weekend so a) couldn’t contact each other to arrange meets ups, especially if one or other of us changed plans and b) couldn’t use the WOMAD app including the interactive map when we lost our sense of direction in the arboretum We left Madras Cafe as a Sunday treat - so sorry to see it closed but understand and we hope all is ok with them. It’s a concern when somewhere has to close at short notice due to personal circumstances so we hope they are alright. Too tired to stay up for the late night acts - and there looked to be some really good ones!

I think you should, I found the steps a challenge but manageable, there must be many in your situation, and I'd have thought easily resolvable. Steps and a ramp before the toilet door and a wider standing area in front of the door. When I used to go to Glastonbury their "long drop" loos had that I'm sure

When I used to go to Glastonbury their "long drop" loos had that I'm sure I plan to, but I thought I would give them a few days to recover! I don’t like complaining and I don’t want to sound negative so need to think how to word it- WOMAD is so brilliant otherwise so I don’t want to moan, just give feedback. I saw quite a few reluctant young children too. I support the principle but I think it needs a bit more thought! I suspect it hadn’t occurred to them. Just glad we decided not to camp!

I agree, positive, constructive pragmatic feedback is always the greater force for change 👍

In this steaming age of streaming, I wonder how the CD/album shops were this year? And artist signings?
