Hmmmm, what with the dismal Thursday night line up (paid extra to arrive early…for what?!?) and the early finishing (nothing of interest past midnight) I am starting to feel a bit short changed with this years schedule. Allows more time for exploring and getting used to the layout and meeting up with friends.

Although, nothing is showing in the woods, I did notice on the map there is a path into the woods. Looks like Adelaide had the earth instead of the moon. I wonder....

I am happy to reserve judgement until after the event but on the face of it losing the post midnight slots is a real shame as often, particularly in recent years, these have been popular with some musical highlights. Has anyone from Womad given a reason for this? Maybe it was done for the locals? Could be not enough people were staying later than one or so in the morning, so they decided later gigs weren't really necessary? There are midnight slots most playing until 2 in the morning. Sunday until 0100. Molly's bar is still open until 4 in the morning. Though it looks like Molly's bar may close at 2 AM Sunday? Perhaps, Sunday's slightly shorter night is to help people leave before noon Monday, as sober as possible.

Has anyone from Womad given a reason for this? I guess it's either inflationary cost... or maybe lack of acts to fill a longer schedule? Things got a lot harder after (bollocks to) Brexit and associated visa complexity and cost for bands, but it seems that's no longer newsworthy. Perhaps it's all of the above, mixed up with the brutal cost of living... Maybe they expect to sell fewer tickets... so less money to spend on bands... and smaller audiences at 1am.

we've noticed there's a new bar by the campfire which will be selling adult drinks.
We think it's the bar the was in the woods so there may not be anything in the woods this year, however years ago it was used a secret stage.

New Zealand had an Earth instead of a Moon, so maybe?

Don't think the weather has been mentioned either:) But it's looking ok, although I don't want to jinx it. It's a shame we are down to a few diehards here, maybe a post Womad recruitment drive is needed:)

Dare I say it but for me the weather looks pretty much perfect to me.
I like glorious sunshine first thing in morning and late afternoon with light cloud cover breaking up the sun during the body of the day.
Nothing wrong with the odd light shower to help cool things down if it's a little sunny

Anyway my plans confirmed. Leaving 8am tomorrow morning all being well and should be on site 9.30.
Plenty of time to set up camp before my first Taste the World session at midday.
Im still struggling to see the value of a Thursday ticket these days due to my proximity to site and our group is not as big these days. Just two of us this year

Thanks beef! I have made it and the tent is up. The BBC says 0% chance of rain and it's raining. I hate that the BBC has such a poor understanding of probability. And I hate the rain too. But apart from that all is good, and we are going to have a blast!

We find it useful.

Well that was all rather good.
One of favourite WOMADs at Charlton Park. Possibly top 3
