Without any fanfare, newsletter or email, Womad 2024 early birds are now on sale. £240 for the four days (plus £12 booking fee, which is quite modest compared to other sites). Also, instalments available (6 monthly payment of £42 - quite a generous option at this stage). Three day tickets at (if I remember correctly) £204.
have to click on tickets on the website (ignore any message saying they are not yet available).
guess from the absence of posts on this forum that this is news to everyone else (it was just by chance that a friend asked me if I had my early bird yet!).
sure there is no rush to buy and there may still be a special early bird offer again over Christmas.
Anyway, got my ticket and I am going to WOMAD 2024 (all being well).

Nice one Mikey:) I always leave getting a ticket to the last minute, it's mainly fear that something is bound to go wrong if I get it earlier...

COP 28 reversing climate change, peace envoys resolving conflicts around the world, US presidency in safe hands and a Conservative Government focussing on creating a strong economy to support funding the needs of the many. What could go wrong?

I had at least two, one saying they were going on sale at midday on Nov 30 received a few days beforehand, and one just after midday on 30 Nov saying they were on sale. Plus it was all over their Facebook page. Got mine as soon as they were released. I didn’t post on here as there seems to be very little activity and not a lot of interest. I just assumed everyone had received the emails! I thought the prices were good and 6 month instalment plan generous.

Did not get an email, despite having ‘signed up’. Certainly, if I click on the newsletter link and try to sign up for future newsletters, it responds to say the email has already been registered. The link from the website to ticket sales did take you to a screen saying tickets would be on sale soon - thankfully this does now go direct to the sales site.
Agree, the instalments plan is very generous, especially as (I) they are not getting the full amount in their coffers until May, and (ii) there must be additional bank charges necessary to process 6 transactions rather than just the one. Hopefully this is what was intended and not a lack of foresight by the admin staff. Nevertheless, I have paid in full.

Haven't bought mine yet. Since, I won't be traveling alone this time, I might have to miss the traditional Thursday evening get together. Am thinking I might have an easier time getting her to WOMAD with a three day ticket and arriving Friday afternoon or early evening. Will see, we're, hopefully, getting together this weekend to discuss our plan for this trip.

Vic don't you look gorgeous?

I responded to WOMAD'S last call for early bird tickets by....... .......buying myself a ticket! Great to hear you are going, just waiting on a fantastic lineup announcement. last call for early birds? Guess another email/newsletter that did not make it to my inbox (and yes I did check the junk/spam folder). For those interested, despite Facebook saying early bird tickets are ‘absolutely flying out’ and will be ‘gone very soon’, they are still available via the website 😁

We've been able to net some early bird tickets, we did notice the very reasonable booking fee and we were tempted with the payment option but we've had our fingers burn with this in the past (although that with this a different ticket seller).

We've been able to net some early bird tickets, we did notice the very reasonable booking fee and we were tempted with the payment option but we've had our fingers burn with this in the past (although that with this a different ticket seller). I've always found it better when booking hotels through internet sites, it's always better to use the pay now feature. One, it helps spread out the trip expenses through the year(which is what I do), and they can't change the price at the last minute, or give your room to someone else before you get there. In the meantime, if WOMAD sold all of it's Saturday and Sunday tickets during the presale, perhaps some of us can meet Wednesday before. Much as Avebury would be fun, maybe Chippenham or Malmesbury even might be easier for some? I only say this, because, so far, the WOMAD, UK site is only previewing 3 and 4 day tickets. My friend is game for a day, but having only visited a little bit of Scotland last year with her sisters, she really wants to see as much as she can of South East England, Wales, and maybe a few other places in England this trip. I don't blame her, and it's going to be fun having someone to travel with. I've made a few suggestions, but am leaving much of it to her. Even, if it's places I've been, she hasn't been, and many of those places I haven't been to since around 1989/90. If this trip goes well, we may return for a Scotland trip in a couple of years. She and her sisters went there last year, but took buses and trains and barely scratched the surface.

No idea why, but I'm sure they have their reasons

Probably want to sell more 3 and 4 day tickets.
I'm hoping there will be some when tickets start selling again. Will have to wait until the middle of the month to find out.
