Olcay Bayir was lovely this evening. That's my go to album at the moment. Track 6 I think is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a long time.
She is an undoubted talent

Yay, it's July - Festival month! Tomorrow I will be going to Maverick Festival and the weather is threatening to try everything. No matter, cowboy boots and rain Mac make a suitably odd mix. Yeehah!

At love supreme this weekend. Saw Saint Germain last night, really good, moody music, should go down a storm at Womad. Just about to see Swindle. Other highlights so far include Morcheeba, but the best have to be Average White Band, wouldn't mind seeing them at Womad. This is a nice festival if you like jazzy stuff, very chilled.

Love supreme also had Burt Bacarrach. Quite strange seeing an 88 year old 'living legend' perform.

Buxton Festival starts on Friday, and the Fringe starts tomorrow, so that's two and a half weeks of brilliant mayhem to look forward to, then about three days breathing space and off to Womad! Booked first tickets today, for two of the operas in the festival - Beethoven's Leonore this Friday and Handel's Tamerlano on Thursday 21st. I've fed a bunch of events into the Amazing Auto-Techno-Schedulator and am busy sorting out what to see when to best avoid clashes. Have stuff to see most days, just need to plan when to see it!
