Del has the bastions of British rock, Magnum on Wednesday night, the song in the video was written after the singer spend a dull night out with some of old friends he use to be in band with before he joined Magnum in 1972

Sarah MacDougall tomorrow, Claudia Aurora on Tuesday and Marissa Nadler on Wednesday. Are you going to see Claudia Claudia DM? Unfortunately, I've decided to give it a miss. Two busy weekends away taken its toll and going to save some money. Have fun
I'll bear that venue in mind when i'm searching for a gig although I think with Glastonbury on the horizon may resist many gigs for the next month or so

This Friday, Brixton Hootananny (my new favorite venue) has La Chiva Gantiva, definitely another fun night ahead!

Sam Lee in Nailsworth last night - unsure as to whether we'd go as Mrs Rendrags hasn't been too well, but we decided to go at the last minute, and glad we did. It was very different from previous times we'd seen him. No band, just him sitting relating stroies about his collecting of songs from gypsies up and down the country and Ireland, interspersed with a few unaccompanied songs. Very enjoyable.

Del went to see the Amorettes last night in a pledge gig (crowd funding for their new album) and he had a ball
the venue was a small bar and there was only about 60 people there so it was great chance to see a top band in a very intimate space in face Del had to keep dodging out of the way of the bass players guitar as she danced at the front of the stage
after the gig Del and his mates chatted to the band which is always very cool

I now have programmes for the Buxton Festival & the Buxton Fringe, so I'll have to do some thinking, pondering and rebooting of the Amazing Auto-Techno-Schedulator and then that should be July 6th - 24th sorted out! Then there is an annoying 3 day gap until Womad

The Claudia Aurora gig in Cafe Barcelona was fab! I picked up her new CD, signed of course , which is on general release very soon and I'd highly recommend it to all fado fans. Here's a video I recorded of Claudia. Claudia Aurora - Cigana (Cafe Barcelona, London, 24/05/2016) The venue is great with very friendly and welcoming staff. Claudia part owns it apparently. The have quite a full programme of mostly Spanish and Portuguese music. I shall be returning even if it is a right pain to get home! Next up Dar Williams at Dingwalls on Wednesday.
