Alien Covenant
8/10 rated at 15 in the UK kind of give the game away that there won't be much of blood bath or fright fest,
The film relies on tell the next chapter in the Alien history to drive the film and it does so very well. The plot does get a bit transparent at time and but if your a fan of the Alien films you will enjoy it
if not you might get a bit lost

Alien Covenant has been a bit of a marmite film, I loved it. A colleague scored it a 1, he thought there was to much of a blood fest plus considers it sacrilegious to make a film that tries to explain the original alien (classic). For me, it was what you want from a film with Alien in the title and was far superior to, say, Alien Resurrection (pants). Without giving away any spoilers, there were plot twists which stood out a mile, yet the film did not insult us by pretending we could not work it all out for ourselves.

Alien may be the marmite movie, some love it others hate it. At least all reviews, including a couple of colleagues are agreed on the King Arthur film. It is really terrible!
Sounds like King Arthur is a Marmite movie, if the main ingredient of marmite was ear wax.

the red turtle
we had mixed feelings about this film
it is well made and looks great but the plot didn't work for us in a lot of ways
there a very strong male ego behind this film which tends to undermined it

The funniest BBC radio programme in recent months is being repeated on radio 4, Tuesday's at 6.30: Alexei Sayle's imaginary sandwich shop. The first show was last night-can catch up on iplayer. Alexei shows how funny and original he still is.

Just watched a blue ray disc of 'that sinking feeling'. Made in the 1970's and must be over 30 years since I last saw it. Still laugh out loud funny in parts, a fantastic film and held the record for cheapest film ever made. Launched the careers of Bill Forsyth and Gordon Sinclair. Was eagerly looking out for Del throughout the film, sure he must have appeared in the background somewhere.

Del was a very wee boy when that sinking feeling was made but he has met another Del who was in the film (he was driving the van)
