Thanks SC - thought it was around that area! Spent the 90s cycling all around there, when I lived in Maidstone... seems like another lifetime now...

So, did you actually sell your bike? I finally got the broken bolt out of mine. Now to find a replacement bolt.

Yes ZR it's sold but not yet collected. Sold it to a chap in Malta, he and his friend are each buying a bike in the UK and then riding them home! We have agreed Β£6,500 which I am happy with and he has got a good deal too particularly as since BREXIT the Β£ has lost about 20% to the euro so effectively he is getting a β¬1,300 discount! (He has already taken the cash out in Β£'s in case the Β£ recovers . So they fly over on the 2nd Sept to collect Fingers crossed she starts So that is a little bit of BREXIT good news

Sounds like quite a trip. Your bike not starting would be a terrible start to that guys trip. Something tells me that won't be a problem. I suppose if you really feel the urge to ride you can always borrow your son's bike.

I suppose if you really feel the urge to ride you can always borrow your son's bike. Yes, he's got a lovely bike, really old school, where all you need is a hammer, a greasy rag and a spanner and you can fix anything he went for a long weekend in Bruges on his bike a couple of weeks ago with his girlfriend Loved it it was great being young all of life ahead of you

And that is why the nicer of my beater vehicles is going to get traded in for a new commuter special The older one has enough computer to be annoying, but not enough to make it impossible to work on. Took the little bike for a short spin to see if I could get the headlights to work with a new relay. Yup, didn't work, so I'm going to take the hint that I don't have time for long projects and trade it in. Of course, what's left to be seen is what reply I get from the email I sent to the sales guy today. May make getting to work tomorrow interesting, not to mention the eclipse, which may be eclipsed by needing to get a car. Was hoping to get to my vacation in a month, but, well, you know how that goes. Didn't make it to the ponies today, so will see whether I buy a new car, see an eclipse and buy a new car, or some variation of that tomorrow, which is almost many others today.
