Had my booster couple of weeks ago, fatigue and mild fever for 2 days but superpowers granted this weekend, I made it snow in Buxton, looked like volcanic ash.
I have a school pal intelligent but anti- vax and a diabetic. He recently had an adverse reaction to an angiogram (which showed blocked blood vessels in his heart) this left him in hospital for a week with fluid build-up on his lungs. I said look John forget all the hype and think of yourself, my experience of covid patients shows some totally recover; many do not. They leave HDU mangled by covid, with your medical conditions you will likely leave in a box.
His reply, 'but people who have the vaccine have heart attacks' and I will take (wait for it...) Ivermectin!! and we are being experimented on! I told him life is by nature an experiment.
No amount of logic worked on someone who has always been anti authority. May be critical thinking should be taught at school.

Probably no use, but maybe tell him Covid not only reeks havoc on the lungs, but it also can cause not only blood clots, but thrombosis (think blood clot on steroids) and so many other issues with other important organs. Ivermectin will only make him healthier if he had worms. It will however, make pharmaceutical companies richer and justify them raising the price on what has been an affordable, mostly livestock dewormer. Way to show big pharma. 🙄 Way not to show big pharma or keep oneself healthy. NOT! Lots of people that had been bragging about Ivermectin keeping them from getting Covid are and have been in hospital ICUs with Covid. Many not doing very well. Not all that were hospitalized left alive. Frankly if they want to make that choice, they need to stay home and at the very least, mask up and keep their distance from others. Which, I know, expecting them to behave in a responsible manner is asking too much from people that can only comprehend as well as a small spoiled child. |

Oh I know. Covid is a seeker, it seeks your weakest point, I said it him you'll likely die but if not it will mangle you, in his case lungs and heart. He doesnt go out too much, just as well, but he will get it sometime. May be he has a tin foil hat. We will all be exposed to it soomer or later, you cant avoid catching a cold for the rest of your life. If Im go into battle Id like some armour, a de-wormer wont cut it!!

The most important things you can do is to take steps to protect yourself and the ones around you, if others do not do the same then be more vigilant with social distancing.
Sadly, the more you try to explain to friend why he is wrong (rather than just acting like an idiot) the more entrenched they will get in their views and believe all the bulls**t being peddled through social media (the people giving bad advice and theories are in it for their own self gain)*. Just be sensible , try to explain why what you are doing is correct but only if the opportunity is there and he may be receptive (remember he will also be convinced he is correct and wants you to understand’the truth’). Post covid, if thankfully he survives, he is highly likely to be following other extreme views on social media, which the far right seem to be exploiting.
*David Icke, widely acknowledged to be extreme and ridiculous, perhaps the village idiot, but he has many followers and not done too badly out of conning people, having estimated net worth upwards of 10m

As the German Health Minister put it the other day “By Spring next year people will either be, vacillated, recovered or dead” ...and in this climate , not satisfied with the zombie pantomime return to the sacred office, my employer is pushing staff to attend Christmas events... grief... and spoke to my dad earlier today and he still thinks the government are blameless victims, merley trapped by the cruelty of hindsight.... fucking idiots everywhere... Can... You... Wear... A.... Mask... can you just avoid doing unnecessary things? duh? That would of course go against the human nature of endlesss duh... always. |

Saw an article that popped up on my social media feed indicating a shortage of lung transplants available as now required for victims of Covid, many of whom not been vaccinated  . Think this was concerning America in particular |

One of the selfish consequences of the anti vaxers is the potential shortage of lung transplants being available. Saw an article that popped up on my social media feed indicating a shortage of lung transplants available as now required for victims of Covid, many of whom not been vaccinated . Think this was concerning America in particular And also the shortage of ITU beds, meaning that elective operations requiring an ITU cannot be carried out, the ramifications of the NHS running at 100% capacity are not so good. If you did it to a car the engine would break. |

In Jockland, the SNP have announced everyone who is eligible will be "offered" a booster.
These basically means everyone who is eligible will be sent a blue letter telling them they can book a booster.
Cal got her blue letter but there isn't a booster slot available until late January and nothing was available at our local vaccination center.
There have been reports of people being turn away from vacation centers when staff told them they ineligible, the politicians and their advisors blamed the staff but it clear the whole process continues to be a shambles in Jockland and the press are ignoring it (something to do with the amount of advertising the SNP spend on to promote the "Scottish" Government)

Not sure if what I have seen was restricted or not but I have seen the graph sent to the government on predicted increase in the new variant. Its coming in rapidly and the shape of the curve, well its almost a straight line upwards-in about 2 weeks.
If it means standing in a cold line of people or traveling to the next town, please do a walk in booster ASAP before the panic sets in. Just verify you are eligible before you go and the centre you attend has stocks of the booster; more restrictions must be inevitable.
If I was Boris & that landed on my desk Id be very concerned indeed.
