Will we finally Get to see the Flaming Lips at Womad? They are scheduled for Galway on 22nd July next year. Womad 2022 is the following weekend, hopefully they are in talks already and good chance they will be there and I will finally get to sing along to ‘do you realise’ in memory of colleagues I lost last year.

It would be lovely if the site opened on the Wednesday and Thursday was a full day so ask many bands as possible could play

So, what will I be needing? Should I cheat and get a glamping spot? What to do, what to do?

So, what will I be needing? Should I cheat and get a glamping spot? What to do, what to do? If you can't carry the camping gear it's a good, but expensive option. Carrying half a ton of camping gear on public transport was always difficult for us...

So, what will I be needing? Should I cheat and get a glamping spot? What to do, what to do? Wooooohooooooooooo! Cheat, definitely cheat! I'll be travelling light and in Camp Womad - a first for me, but worth the extra as carrying kit is out of the question for me now. So glad you're coming - this is brilliant! xx

Yip, Camp womad would be best but they'll charge you for pillows and a sleeping gag, you will be more than welcome at x marks the spot so your tent would just be a sleep pop or space for a bit of you time and X would be the place to catch up with everyone (you can use our cooking facilities too).
The site is fairly small and it doesn't take long to get from place to place and you can buy almost anything you need at the camp shops (at festival prices).

So, what will I be needing? Should I cheat and get a glamping spot? What to do, what to do? So, what will you be able to bring and what will you need? if you let us know, maybe we could donate/lend bulky items which we can carry more easily than you.

So glad you're coming - this is brilliant! xx Certainly thinking about cheating. I haven't really gone anywhere since my trip to Shetland in 2019, or done a whole lot of anything, so am thinking about splurging. Haven't decided by how much, likely Camp WOMAD or maybe one of the little pods. I know, I know it's cheating, it's expensive, but the less I take with on the plane the better. Wish I could bring my camper, but that would really, really be expensive. Wish this was in my budget, wouldn't this be awesome? www.bunkcampers.com/en/campervans-for-hire/2-person-aero/I'm glad everyone is excited too. Here's to nothing interfering with WOMAD 2022

Good day SS. I hope you sheltered from the storm. Pretty wild this side too. Lots of trees down and power off. It seemed like a good moment to check the forum and I’m happy to see folk anticipating W2022 😍 It’s been a long time. I bought my ticket in November 2019. Maybe we’ll be up to Covid Zeta by then?! How about a wish list for performers. Honeyfeet were great at Musicport. I would like to have seen Thomas Mapfumo before it’s too late. Maybe Fat Freddies Drop ( they did appear once) Yillian Canizares, Stelar Parov are awesome as are Caravan Palace, Grupo Fantasma and how about a Sufi night. I’m planning on a trip to Glasgow. I’d like to visit that pub that Billy Connolly goes on about. If you see me, say hello, (I won’t be in Tangier)😆

Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy. I'm officially nuts. I just ordered my 4 day tickets for WOMAD. And I know I could have saved a small fortune with the generosity of those here, but I went and booked me a small Podpad with all the trimmings. Holy crap they are expensive! Figure being jet lagged it might be the best option to keep me somewhat functional, at least the first couple of days. Really thought about just going with the Camp WOMAD tent, but decided to go all out. I haven't done a real trip since my holiday in Shetland spring of 2019, so why not?! If it was somewhere I could bring camping equipment to easier I would definitely planned on X marks the spot. My credit card was declined the first time and I got a fraud alert. LOL Let them know it really was me doing some crazy purchasing and all was well the second time. So, now all I have to do is start checking out airfares and hope I hit them at the best price. OK, have to hope Covid doesn't somehow ruin our plans. By then there should be new improved booster shots, so hopefully we can have a WOMAD time ahead of us.

It is going to be perfect weather for Womad 2022; glad to see you are getting the line up sorted. Have fun in Glasgow; see you at Charlton Park!
