Just hope that the visa delays reported in this article from the Guardian won't affect overseas artists due to appear at Womad his year.
“It’s taking artists by surprise – they’re not used to waiting over six weeks for visas and they are being caught out. I can see visa-heavy festivals – those which feature many acts from Africa and Asia, for instance – being impacted worst by this, unless the UKVI [UK Visas and Immigration] is able to throw more staff at the visa section.”

Oh boy, Oh boy, Oh boy. I'm officially nuts. I just ordered my 4 day tickets for WOMAD. And I know I could have saved a small fortune with the generosity of those here, but I went and booked me a small Podpad with all the trimmings. Holy crap they are expensive! Figure being jet lagged it might be the best option to keep me somewhat functional, at least the first couple of days. Really thought about just going with the Camp WOMAD tent, but decided to go all out. I haven't done a real trip since my holiday in Shetland spring of 2019, so why not?! If it was somewhere I could bring camping equipment to easier I would definitely planned on X marks the spot. My credit card was declined the first time and I got a fraud alert. LOL Let them know it really was me doing some crazy purchasing and all was well the second time.  So, now all I have to do is start checking out airfares and hope I hit them at the best price. OK, have to hope Covid doesn't somehow ruin our plans. By then there should be new improved booster shots, so hopefully we can have a WOMAD time ahead of us. |

Me too Bloohair. I’ve so missed Womad these 3 years. The anticipation. Like old times. Can’t wait to see webby the site build. Yesterday I checked my trolley. One tyre was flat. I had anticipated this as when I checked it last year I bought two new wheels off ebay. Generally they’re made of piss poor material and the inner tube perishes. Check ‘em out.
Looking forward to seeing you lot. Anyone bringing a ukulele?

SC how are you doing ? Womad has been off my radar for so long but a recent trip to Knockengorroch festival has rekindled the buzz. I miss the old forum too. Maybe a post on fb to encourage some lost souls. Don’t forget to test your trolley tyres😆
