Have to admit I don't think I know any of the bands playing. But that's what makes WOMAD fun and different than many other music festivals that generally stick to bands you already hear on the local radio. I kind of like walking around and being drawn by my ears. OK, a name got my attention and I do hope The Great Malarkey are playing Saturday. Of course, listening to some of the links from the line up I might wish they were all playing Saturday. Dam and Witch and ANURADHA PAL WITH KEDIA BANDHU, and Togo have also caught my ear. www.womad.co.uk/lineup

Planning to hit the Taste of the World stage a few times this year.
Never done that before but heard good reports about it. Not overly fussed about getting any food, it would nice to hear artists talk about their work

No real idea of who I I will be seeing. My usual rule is if in doubt, head to Ecotricity Stage.
Got abit of Fadoo somewhere. And Orange Blossom! They were superb back in 2014 I think but could be wrong on the year. I've just booked tickets to see them in Reims in France end of November. My first ever live gig abroad.

Just don't go there feeling hungry... unless you're a mouse.

Listening to the Womad Spotify playlist right now. Some good stuff. We are too! So many new names but so much great music. Printed off the clashfinder and started to plan - goodness know why as we never stick to it.

Early finish on most stages... the always tricky end of Sunday night looks extra tricky...

Hmmmm, what with the dismal Thursday night line up (paid extra to arrive early…for what?!?) and the early finishing (nothing of interest past midnight) I am starting to feel a bit short changed with this years schedule.

I am happy to reserve judgement until after the event but on the face of it losing the post midnight slots is a real shame as often, particularly in recent years, these have been popular with some musical highlights.
Has anyone from Womad given a reason for this?

Has anyone from Womad given a reason for this? Well, I do have my fingers crossed that the later slots are a bit more ad hoc and will be filled closer to the time (although that may be being over optimistic). Maybe, we will be given more information when the Siam Tent signs off on Friday after John Metcalf and we are told to either make our way to one of the ‘dj’ sets or go to bed like good little children.
