Mavis was amazing last night, but am feeling she may be coming to her end of big tours. If you can, get a ticket when she's across the pond, you won't regret it. PBS was there filming it, so expecting a biography special for this amazing woman. Who is still using her voice for the fight for civil rights, voting rights, but tired of having to fight battles that were thought to have been won decades ago. She didn't specifically say this, but the feeling was there. The audience was with her, and clapped long after the lights came on and the ushers opened the door to single there would be no return encore. She ended on the note she wanted to and there was no reason to return. ๐๐๐ Her opening act was Celise, someone Peter should consider for WOMAD with no regrets. She brought amazing energy as a warm up for Mavis. She will also be at Bonnaroo. Celise Mavis (wish it was better, but from my seat a bit limited) Footnote, I limited myself to one picture for each of the performances (flash off as always), as I have found it's better to be in the moment without the distraction or distracting others. One last edit, thought I'd add Mavis tour list. She will be in Europe around WOMAD, so perhaps she's due for a return? mavisstaples.com/tour

I'm not going this year, and get the logistics isn't much easier for some that side of the pond, but the visiting lineup for the Shetland Folk Festival seem worthy of a listen. ๐ From my experience, the local talent are too. www.shetlandfolkfestival.com/line-up/visiting

I don't think think this added anything to the first lineup announcement, but now we know who will be playing the late sets Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Looks like I will be waiting for the regular sale. Unless there is a new special Peter Gabriel mailing list, mine had the links to the presale sites, but no code to utilize it. So, I'll have to be on my game tomorrow morning. On the other hand, even when I had the codes, I often did better during the regular sales where more seats would miraculously open up. Of course, that was before Ticketmaster started their tactic of price gouging the customer by raising prices to the ridiculous, just because they can. Will see how this goes. Love Peter, want to see him live, but will see how much I'm willing to pay for the experience.

Just realized my preferred browser and/or settings may have been the problem. Doh! Oh well, will figure it all out tomorrow, I guess.

Well, it's done. Spent way too much money, but I'm in the fifth row, and the ticket was not marked up. Definitely better options than I was getting with the presale. Of course, if I had been at the presale day one...
It's sad, a third of the front row tickets are already marked up resales.

It should be illegal to resell for more than the face value.
