My next gig is tonight. Off to see Tim Peake talking at Sunny Buxton Opera House... then my first out-of-town gig of the year is on Saturday - Steve Hillage at the Ritz in Manchester Have a fab time, I had a ticket for the 2nd April but had to sell due to a family commitment. Have a great time 👍

It happens, because countries allowed the market system to rename price gouging to supply and demand. Same thing, but one is illegal and the other is not. I should say, they've priced me out of some future shows as well. Then again, due to my work schedule, unless I set an alarm, chances are good some shows will sell out before I wake up. 🙄 Such as The Cure. I may have just missed being able to get a ticket for them. I won't be buying a resale ticket. However, I am going to see many fantastic bands for in June at The Chicago Blues Fest (free) and Bonnaroo, so I'm good. OK, I did pay too much to see Peter in September, but even I have my weaknesses. 😉 ... it's even worse - tout bots - www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-64893863... and at the same time small venues are struggling more than ever - www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-65014849

Next gig is in a few hours! Off to see Big Country at the Ritz in Manchester. I saw them on the listings when I was at the Ritz a couple of weeks ago to see Steve Hillage, and bought a ticket the next day

We didn't manage to meet the band but we did speak to their manager at the end of the gig, she told us that the band were still living in Kiev and the young of the city were partying like there was no tomorrow!
She also said the band were working hard to promote Ukraine's plight but they were looking forward to the day they could preform lighter and more joyful songs.

About 55 days until Bonnaroo! Could be interesting, given Tennessee's current state of politics.

Chicago Blues Fest lineup. Thursday night, Blind Boys of Alabama open for the Centennial Tribute to Albert King. Friday night John Primer and the Real Deal Blues Band headlines. Saturday night Mud Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters) headlines. Los Lobos Headlines Sunday night. And so many other legends will be playing on 3 different stages all day, except Thursday. Which is scaled back, as they used to run at least two more stages. Still, plenty of music to choose from. 😎 Then again, there is a schedule subject to change, so perhaps another stage, like the Back Porch Stage could make a return? Not sure I'll make everyday, quite the commute, and all my money is pretty much invested into Bonnaroo, this year, but am going to try go as many days I can. I usually try to get a good seat in the Pavilion, but I might just take a WOMat instead. www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/chicago_blues_festival10.html

Del was excite to read the Judas Priest, Saxon and Uriah Heep we going to tour together, he wasn't too happy when he found out they were going to be playing the hydro, even less happy when he discovered it would be all seated and discussed to find out the seats in the front blocks were around £140! Del and his mates have agreed to save their money and go see more bands in better venues for far less cost.

Saw the hothouse flowers last Tuesday. An amazing show, played for over two hours in the best music festival in the world (well, best venue off Park Street, Bristol). So good, I had to run to catch my train back from temple meads station (except the train was delayed by 20 minutes so would have had plenty of time).

They were my first gig, way back in 1988 at Sheffield Leadmill! A fine band
