The Vaccinator - hunting down the unvaccinated one by one... and vaccinating them... "That Vaccinator is out there. It can't be reasoned with, it can't be bargained with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear and it absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are jabbed!"

After checking the NHS Scotland website Cal tried to visit a drop in centre which was meant to be open today but when she arrived she discovered it was closed with signs everywhere saying "appointment only".
Once again the hype that all is well in Jockland is far from the truth.
The earliest Cal can book a booster is 3 weeks time so she going to try to visit a drop in centre, one that is open.

It kills me how accessible the vaccines are here in the USA in most places. Yet, so many are refusing to take advantage of that. OK, it's killing them more than it is killing me or others that are vaccinated. That is, unless they need an ICU bed for something not Covid related and can't get it, because of the mostly unvaccinated that are once again filling up hospital beds. Here's to not having to wait long for this booster or others in the future. I have a feeling there will be another booster needed in 6 months, before hopefully becoming more of an annual booster like the flu vaccine.

We have the wonderful SNP running the NHS in Jockland, and they are give Johnson ad the tories a run for their money but at least the media don't make like difficult for them........

Relief that Callie has booked her appointment for 3 weeks time and will continue trying for a walk in 👍. Hopefully she will get it quicker 🤞

Even though it's long after the event, I can only feel so sorry for the boy on the left. I think, as with Brexit and other examples of irrationality and paranoia trumping fairly obvious reason and science, there will be few deliberately unvaccinated who will be persuaded now. The roughly 70% vaccinated has been unchanged for months.
I remember having measles when I was 3 (just before it become a routine jab) and I still replay the fevered hallucinations in my head to this day... but it's part of me and I wouldn't want to change that, even though it was absolutelyy terrifying.
But... I still feel that compulsory vaccination for the general population is crossing a big line that I'm not sure should be crossed... masks and distancing etc - yes - and I wish these were better enforced (like you're only exempt if you don't have a face - would you like me to make you exempt?) - but forced medication is a scary step into a future we may not want...
Compulsory action from governments on access to vaccines, climate change and poverty... that's what the world needs.

and it's our turn
On Sunday Del started to feel unwell while at work, sore throat and his mouth tasted strange.
As soon as he got home he did an LFT and was positive.
Although he was trying to self isolate and keep the infection away from Cal, sadly she test positive on Thursday.
We have both been struggling with brain fog and a lack of energy. Del has been more physically affected with a fever and limb pain (including pain in areas he injured over 20 years ago)
Del is slowly getting better but continued to test positive, Cal is still in the think of it but getting there.

Having managed to avoid catching it for two years, it was my turn this week. Guess going to radio 6 music in Cardiff and catching the last train home was risk too far (but it was a great Saturday night). After a couple of coughs and light headed Wednesday morning at work, took the precaution of popping home to take a test, astounded that it showed positive. Since then been coughing, sore throat and tired. Could have been a lot worse and feeling grateful for vaccinations.
oh, and the most important thing is that, so far does not look like I passed it on to any colleagues at work (fingers crossed).

@ CnD & @ Mikey Really hoping you guys recover well and things do not linger too much. 2 and half months since I caught it and I seem to have recovered baring a little more fatigued than I would expect to be after exercise and minor cough.

Couldn't 'like' your post, because Covid sucks. Glad you are both vaccinated. Wishing you both a quick recovery. Brain fog and being tired is the worst part. Sure the pain sucks, but it reminds you that you're still alive. Sadly, I wasn't vaccinated when I had it two years ago, not by choice, they just didn't have any yet, which is why right or wrong, I don't hesitate when one is available for me. I'm not young and I'm a bit chubby these days. Will be getting my fourth jab a month or two before I go to WOMAD. As for Covid, some of the muscle soreness didn't go away for a few months. Was tired for well over a month, after I was technically done with it. Hopefully, the vaccines will keep you both from having those issues for as long. Healing thoughts.

Definitely glad we have the vaccines. Have to admit, it's why I've been reluctant to do a lot. Though, that will be changing soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Sadly, I wasn't vaccinated when I had it two years ago, not by choice, they just didn't have any yet, which is why right or wrong, I don't hesitate when one is available for me. Which why I feel so fortunate that I have been able to avoid covid until now, especially pre vaccine when the seriousness was much worse and I may have been at high risk. And now, gratitude for having had three jabs that my experience was minor in comparison to others and would be more worried about flu symptoms (which why I make sure of having the flu jab every Autumn). finally, gratitude and so lucky that I feel confident to return to concerts etc, yes it will always be a risk but being sensible and having the jabs makes it possible to enjoy life’s pleasures again.
