Ruby and I both had our Autumn boosters last week. The Moderna bivalent one. We also had anti-pneumonia jabs a few weeks ago, and we're this morning off to get out flu vaccines this morning. Our arms will be like pin cushions! I've not heard anything about boosters 'round these parts. I had pneumonia last year - was ill for weeks and not something I would want to repeat - how did you get a jab for that Rendrags? As Rendrags said, go on-line and book yourself in, or as my wife and I did go to a walk-in 👍. We didn’t have an invite, I would wait around for one

I just put my details into the NHS vaccination site and it said that I don't need one... I don't quite believe that, but that's me told. No idea what the actual policy is on this... hang on... did someone say "policy"?....

It's just crazy how available they are here in the states, and yet we have a huge antivaxxer and hesitant crowd that just won't do it. I wonder if people that can afford to do so are still coming to the states for vaccine vacations/holidays. They come for the vaccines, but get a holiday too.

It looks like that I should have had one according to the NHS web site My medical condition is listed in the under 65 list, but the fact I have had pneumonia twice seems not to count. So should I phone and book it this week, or wait until next week when I'm in the over 65 cohort and offically an OAP! I'll wait as I'm having my covid booster tonight and had a blood test last week, dont want to look like an addict with track marks all over my arms!!

For my Flu jab, I don’t qualify yet but I’ve booked one on line on a date by which time my age group does qualify

Just had Covid and Flu Jabs (flu in the left arm and Covid in the right) at my local surgery. Hopefully, will not have any side effects and always glad to get jabbed up by the Autumn.
Will let you all know if I turn magnetic, pick up shortwave radio, turn into a zombie or suffer unfeasibly large testicles/impotence like other ‘reported’ cases.

Had my second Shingles shot/jab a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't hurt, but still have a slight red area at the injection site. Was a bit tired and achy for nearly a week, but so much better than getting Shingles.
Will get my flu and the new improved Covid probably in a week or so. As, my last Covid (2nd booster) shot was in July right before my trip to WOMAD, I might wait until mid November, but thinking I might just do it before Halloween. 🎃
I'm wondering if it will become a once a year vaccine for healthy people under 50 and a twice a year vaccine for those over 50 and any age with health issues?

I never realised that there was a vaccine against shingles. Remembering how bad it was for my brother in law when he contracted shingles, or that it never seemed to go away (he would get symptoms periodically), it is great that you have been fortunate to been jabbed (do the two shots cover you for life, like the pneumonia vaccine?) through my surgery, I had flu and Covid at the same time along with most of the others on the day. My guess it will become a combined jab, with chance to opt out of one or the other, administered in the autumn (and maybe twice a year if vulnerable). thinking back to how we were when Covid was rife two years ago, damm this modern world that created the virus and helped it spread around the world so easily. And thanks to modern science (and the long hard work done by the researchers) to create vaccines that have reopened our lives

Reading about Shingles, the temporary aches and pains from the vaccine are very much well worth it. If you can get it, get it. Sadly, in the case of Covid, it was people not letting go of past practices, such as the wet markets in China that are the larger problem. Then again, it seems we may have Ebola to worry about again too.

Had mine today - probably should have had it earlier, but the information has really not been clear... anyway, it was the pfizer-something bi-something... quite surreal going into the vaccination centre, once again into the controlled mask-wearing environment that has all but disappeared over the last year or so... seems like a long time ago now.

Back down the vaccination centre again today as a volunteer marshal and they gave me my flu jab after my shift 👍. That’s the full set of jabs for me for another year 😊

Almost forgot. Got my flu and bivalent Pfizer shots/jabs a week and a half ago. I would normally have waited just a bit longer, but with all the flu's, etc. starting up early, seemed a good idea not to wait any longer.

We both had our booster at the end of last week (a few days apart). Cal had a sore arm for 2 days and felt a bit flat. Del has sore arm, mild fatigue and a touch of brain fog.
Hopefully all the side effects will pass soon
